Starting your baby on solids can be quite the challenge for moms.  I remember being so nervous when I went through this phase with Isaac. Mostly because it was a new first for me, and I didn't really know where to start.  But after talking to my pediatrician, some well seasoned moms, and trying a few things out on my own, I really got the hang of things and found myself getting really excited when the time came to introduce solids to Emi, Zachary, and Benson; enjoying the entire process with each of them.

As moms, we all want our kids to be good eaters, and at least try everything we put on their plates.  And that of course starts when you first begin to introduce solids to your baby.  Though I'm definitely not a certified expert when it comes to nutrition, I have learned a thing or two about how to successfully start a baby on solids and help them grow into healthy eaters.  So, after raising four babies, here is what I've learned about introducing babies to solid foods and how teaching children to become good eaters.

How to Start your Baby on Solids

(get all the detailed information in my youtube video!)

1) Invest in the right feeding products.

2) Start with the darkest vegetable.

3) Detect and prevent food allergies.

4) Give your baby opportunities to feed themselves.

These are some of my favorite store bought food items for babies!

5) Stay positive!

Oh, and if you are looking for a new high chair, I am seriously obsessed with the Skip Hop Tuo Convertible high chair we got!  Because as Benson gets bigger, we can convert the high chair into an actual chair that we can pull up to the table during meals so Benson can eat right there with us.  Plus, it has a beautiful design that allows it to look good in any living space and is super easy to clean after each feeding.  If you can't tell, I'm just a tad bit obsessed!  Ha ha!

But if you're looking for something else, here are some other products that will make transitioning your baby to solid foods that much easier.
