love your postbaby body

Body image.  As you all know, it's a big deal to me.  Especially after us moms have babies, because our bodies change so much during this phase of life; leaving us to wonder where the girl we used to be...went.

Since having Benson, I've talked about this topic here and here.

Both times I talked about this topic, I focused more on loving your post-baby body in a swim suit.  But when I was given the opportunity to talk about this topic again in a podcast with Life Beats Project, I jumped at the chance! Because this time I would be sitting down with Brittany Maddux and Roxana Baker (2 other moms who recently had babies) to talk about post-baby body image and the daily battle it can be.  And since having Benson, I have really struggled!  Mostly because I see so many other women on social media with newborns, and they hardly even look like they were ever pregnant to begin with.  Making me feel like I quickly had to start loosing weight after my pregnancy and wonder why I can't look like that to begin with.  It's a very real struggle that I know I am not fighting alone.  I can't even begin to imagine how many moms out there have felt the pressure to quickly start loosing they baby weight after their pregnancy.  Which is why I'm so thankful that I got to hash out this very real and present struggle with other women who are in the same boat as me.

Of course, we are far from being experts on the postpartum body.  But we are real women sharing honest experiences and view points we've had with our postpartum body image.  Talking about how we each overcame our own battle against the negative thoughts and feelings that can come after having a baby; and how we learned to love and embrace our postpartum bodies for what they did and what they are.

So, if you (or someone you know) would like to learn more about loving your postpartum body, go here to listen to the full podcast and then let me know in comments below what your thoughts are on this topic.  Because I'd really love to know!

P.S. My yellow thunderbird blanket is from Flor de Luz Shop and all the beautiful pictures were taken by Roxana Baker.
