Sunny Bunny Easter Picnic Ideas3.23.2016
Whether there's a holiday or not, I know Isaac is going to present a party idea we should try. haha! That kiddo definitely got my party gene and I love it! So, when March hit, I knew Isaac would be wanting to do some sort of Easter Party for him and a few of our friends.
Wanting to keep things simple, I planned the rest of the easter picnic ideas off of some darling meri meri Easter bunny cups and Easter bunny ears party supplies that i found while out shopping one day.
Here's how i did it...
Easter Picnic Ideas
Went with yellow, white and orange for the colors of the party; resulting in the name of our party...Sunny Bunny Easter Picnic.
Created some simple invitations for our friends blakely, cecilia, jessica and all of their cute littles on my favorite design website and then had isaac help me decorate them by painting grass at the bottom of each invite.
Made these super easy bunny ear plates with white pipe cleaners and clear tape.
Had this darling white rabbit cake made by the incredibly talented mary elizabeth of Love Cake Bake
Bought some marshmallow bunnies from the grocery store to make some candy bunny kabobs and made white rabbit peanut butter and honey sandwiches with a bunny shaped cookie cutter that I already had on hand.
Used orange and yellow balloons and a darling bunny banner I found in the target dollar aisle as my main decorations.
Let our guests become part of the party planning fun, and eased up the party planning work on myself, by asking them to each bring their favorite picnic food to share and a dozen candy filled plastic eggs to be used in our easter egg hunt.
*Note: i don't do this all the time, but every now and again, i most definitely think it is ok to divvy out some of the party responsibilities to your guests.
And that's it!
The party was simple and cute, which is exactly what I was going for. For the longest time I used to get so caught up in throwing these huge, over-the-top, parties. But I've learned that most times, simple really is better. Because, instead of stressing about every little party detail and element, you get to focus on making/capturing memories, and enjoying the company of those that are there. Which is what parties are really all about!
