How to Look Fabulous in a Black Dress12.30.2014
Now why should we all own a black dress (or skirt) you might ask?
The answer is simple...Because it's the most versatile piece of clothing you will ever hang in your closet. Going flawlessly with almost everything you own. And, with New Year's Eve just around the corner, you can never go wrong with wearing your own black dress to any of the fun holiday parties you may be attending or hosting.

Whether you'll be dancing the night away at a Masquerade, going out to dinner, or spending the evening at a fun soiree in the home of a family member or friend you can easily accessorize your little black number to showcase your own fabulously unique style and highlight you as the hot mama that you truly are. Making you the belle of whatever type of holiday party you attend!
So, here are 4 simple ways in which you can do that.
How to Style a Black Dress1. Find pieces that are eye catching. Such as bold jewel toned colors, killer shoes, intricate designs, and bling...lots and lots of bling.
2. Select items that are modern and current with the latest fashion trends. Keeping in mind that you don't have to spend a lot of money or even any at all on these pieces. For instance, start by rummaging through what you currently own. I am always amazed at how many of my accessories I already work very nicely with what's currently trending. However, if you find that isn't working for you, then try looking for items at such stores as Forever 21 and H&M to find what you need.
3. Don't be afraid to go vintage. Pairing vintage items with a few current ones can be a match made in fashion heaven!
4. It's A-Okay to layer. This is something I absolutely love to do! It can be a little tricky but can easily be mastered if you just remember to keep things balanced and trust your gut. If you feel like you are wearing too much, than you probably are. Some fun ways to layer is by pairing a narrow and blingy bracelet with a large and more toned down bangle or wear a long and simple necklace with a shorter and more detailed bib necklace. The options are endless with how you can do this! For more tips on this fun technique, check out some of my favorites over at Redbook.
And there you have it! If you follow these four guidelines you and your black ensemble will truly be one of a kind!
With just two short days standing between us and 2015, I hope your celebration of the new year is simply amazing no matter what you choose to wear!
