Call me a cheesy mom, but when it comes to art work, some of my most treasured pieces are the ones my children make.  There's just something about seeing a framed painting, drawing, etc. my children's sweet little hands made, that melts my H.E.A.R.T!

Fortunately for me, my kids love making art.   So, I always have an abundance of mini masterpieces to choose from! Which is perfect for me because, in the next few weeks, I'll be putting together a picture wall for my hallway and have decided to use this recent tissue paper mega collage that my children and I made together.  When it comes down to it, love is always the main focal point in my home; so having this as the the main focal point of my art wall seemed very fitting.

Whether you too love using your children's artwork to decorate your nest, or you are just in need of a fun and easy activity that will keep your children's little hands busy.  This art project is perfect for you.

Here's how you do it.

Tissue Paper Art for Kids

White poster board

1/8 Cup White Elmer's Glue

1/8 Cup of water

Pencil

Paint brush

Tissue paper
(Mine is the Hallmark Brand that I bought at Walmart)

1. With your pencil, help your children draw a large heart on your poster board (we cut our poster board down to an 11x14 size so we could easily frame it).

2. Mix your 1/4 cup of glue with 1/4 cup of water and have your children brush some of the glue mixture on part of your drawing.

3. Place tissue paper squares directly on top of the glue mixture you just spread, and then brush a coat of your glue mixture over them.

4)Repeat until your heart is completely covered.  Dry the collage flat, frame, and then hang on your wall!

*NOTE: To avoid a sticky mess in your home, set up a table in your yard, and have your children make this outside.  Luckily for me, my kids did a fabulous job with not getting the glue all over the place.  However I can't say the same thing for the tissue papers squares.  All it took was me turning my back on them for just a few seconds, and the next thing I know, Gus and Birdie are standing on top of our picnic table and singing "Let It Go!" at the top of their lungs whilst throwing the tissue paper squares all over our yard.  Of course, I had some choice words that were running through my head, but then I decided to heed the words of the song my children were belting out like and 80's ballad and just let it go.

Happy Monday!
