Happy Monday Mums!  Today, Michelle would normally be sharing the third and final round of our "Dressy Summer Must-Haves" series. But, we are taking a break from that to, instead, talk about our first annual "Mums for a Cause" charity event that we did back in May!

Aside from wanting Mumsy to be a place of honesty and resourcefulness, we wanted Mumsy to be a place where good could happen on a regular basis.  So, with that thought alone, "Mums for a Cause" was formed with the idea that every year we would work along side influential members of our community to serve organizations that help women and children in need.  For our first annual event, we unanimously decided to benefit

The Center for Women and Children in Crisis

a local organization that harbors survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.

Early on, we noticed that a lot of service and resources were given to The CWCIC during the Winter months.  So we decided to have our event at the tail end of Spring when collected resources from the Winter would soon be scarce.  Once the date of May 24th had been chosen the rest of the planning effortlessly fell in to place!

Before long, "Mums for a Cause: Spring Time Soiree for The Center for Women and Children in Crisis" was formed; and, once again, the insanely talented Heather Bliss was there to document the entire event!  So, instead of telling you how everything went...we thought we would show you instead!

Wanting to utilize the gorgeous spring weather, we decided to have our event on the gorgeous grounds of Harmony Boutique.

Going for a vintage and whimsical garden party feel, we used such elements as pendant banners, fresh flowers, and beautiful tissue paper pom-poms to create the look we were going for.

The entire event was focused around collecting particular needed goods for the CWCIC.  Attendees who donated were able to enter into a raffle that consisted of amazing prizes from local artists, merchandisers, and photographers.
We were privileged to have the talented and all around stunning Barb Smith share her
ah-inspiring thoughts on community service.

Finally, we capped off the event with a performance by the gorgeous and incredibly talented Sarah Sample.

Thanks again to all of those who attended and contributed to this event.  We couldn't have done it without you!
