Happy Valentine's Day!

Before sharing our little holiday activity, we here at Mumsy just wanted to proclaim the love and appreciate we have for you, our reader.  We would not be where we are today, without your continual support; and for that, our hearts are full of nothing but awe and adoration for you! So, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!  We are most assuredly feeling the L.O.V.E.

Now, on to the activity!

Today, I have a super fun and super easy chickie-friendly craft that my kids love doing.  It's called Baked Cotton Ball Hearts and contains just the right amounts of controlled messiness (something all kids love), fine motor skills, and bonding time.  So, just when you think your kids have consumed enough Valentine's Day treats and the sugar high they are now on is about to drive you crazy, quickly sit them down to do this craft and enjoy a welcome break from the sugar infused chaos that can sometimes come from this holiday.

Baked Cotton Ball Hearts

1 cup flour

1 cup water

 food coloring

wax paper

permanent marker

cotton balls

*Optional-Some large t-shirts that your chickies can wear over their clothes to keep from getting messy.

1. Pre-heat oven to 300 degrees

2. Mix together the flour and water.

3. Add food coloring to your mixture.

4.  On a piece of wax paper, draw a large heart with your permanent marker.

5. Demonstrate to your chickies how to take one cotton ball at a time and completely dunk it into the flour mixture and then lay it on the black line of the heart that you drew on your wax paper sheets.

6. Once the hearts are formed {make sure all of the cotton balls are together otherwise it wont bake together to form your heart}, place them on a cookie sheet and bake them for 1 hr.

7. When your hearts are done baking, break away the wax paper and viola, you're finished!

Loves and Hugs,
