What an incredible day this was!! Michelle & I were honored to be invited to tyoyou book signing party with Heather & Heidi, writers of the popular new book Fairy Birds. These two are just the sweetest! They deserve every bit of success they are experiencing! We knew that this was a party for a children's book, but my 30 year old soul was more than giddy for all of sweetness that filled the room! We missed our dear Natashia, but she was throwing a killer birthday bash for her boy, which I'm sure she will share all the deets of it later on!
I also missed the chance to tell my sweet friend Simini Blocker how proud I was of her incredible illustrations in this book. This girl was born with a gift! To learn more about her & her work, check out her webpage here.
The Fairy Birds event brought together a collection of talented local artists who helped bring the pages of this Fairy Birds book to life.      The video was filmed by Reel Orange Video. The decorations were created by A Ruffled Life and styled by Melody Palmer Design. Some pages of the book were re-created into enchanting wall murals  by Heather Hackney.  The colorful florals were created by  Lizy's Lilies. Calligraphy signs dotted the Fairy Birds indoor landscape and were created by calligrapher, Jill Dehaan.  Waffluv topped off the event with creating amazing waffle concoctions for guests young and old. Pop Chips and Switch Beverage also provided food for guests at the event and Shabby Apple provided clothing for the event. Some of the many Bloggers in attendance were:   Small F  ry, Dear Lizzy, Ivory Lane and others like Lindsey Pinegar, Mumsy Blog, The Allison Show, With Heart, House Lars Built, Freshly Picked, Mint Arrow, PS I Adore You   and many more.

If you haven't heard of the book yet, here's a brief summary from the beautiful authors themselves!

"Have you ever wondered where Fairy Godmothers came from? They come from a Fairy Bird of course! Fairy Birds are Fairy Godmothers in training. They go to Fairy Godmother school to learn the secrets of how to become one. In each book of the Fairy Bird series, the little Fairy Birds learn how to grow one of the six colorful feathers they need to become Fairy Godmothers.
In this first book, the Fairy Birds go on a soaring adventure to grow their first colorful feather, the pink "Givie" feather, which they grow as they give to others. The book is full of infectious illustrations, delightful color, fashionable characters and a secret message--to just give a little--that is captivating children across the globe." (Source:
