I LOVE throwing parties.  Especially in the Fall.  So, wanting to throw a simple party that consisted of good friends and caramel apples {one of my favorite Fall treats}, I decided to throw a Mom and Chickie Caramel Apple Dipping Party at my Little Brick House.

Since I love coming up with any reason to celebrate, I tend to throw more parties than the average person; which means that if I don't want drain the good ol' bank account I have to stick to a budget and pull from my plethora of frugal party planning ideas.  Since I knew this was going to be a smaller, more intimate party, I knew that a $10 budget would easily cover everything I had in mind.

The key to doing this...Use a lot of what you already have.

Here's how I made it happen...

1. Invitations:

* Designed the actual invite on PicMonkey using an image of the apple orchard that we took last year's family pics in.
(Total: Free)

* Printed invitations off at Costco's online photo lab for about $.14 a piece.
(Total: $1)

* Dressed up the photo invite using leftover twine and cut up index cards that I hand painted water color apples on.
(Total: Free)

2. Table Setting:

* Used leftover paper goods from previous thrown parties.
(Total: Free)

*Threw down a black and white checkered table cloth I had recently received as a gift.
(Total: Free)

* Purchased Skewers for the individual apple slices that people would be dipping.
(Total: $2.50)

* Set out some of my favorite glassware for the food and drinks.
(Total: Free)

3. The Food:
*Made my favorite Fall Punch: A concoction of orange juice, frozen apple juice, and Ginger Ale
(Total: $.88 for the Ginger Ale-I already had the orange/apple juice on hand)

*Used freshly picked orchard apples that were recently given to me from my in-laws.
(Total: Free)

* Made caramel apple dipping sauce using ingredients that I had in my pantry.
(Total: Free)
I got the recipe...here

* Asked friends to bring their favorite caramel apple toppings to share.
(Total: Free)

Grand Total: $4.38!

Talk about keeping way within the bounds of my budget!  And there you have it my friends...a frugal yet extremely fun party that will leave both you and your nearie dearies completely elated and filled with eager anticipation for this to become and annual event.

Loves and Hugs,
